Bengaluru, Apr 14: 'Bisu Parba' is being celebrated by Tuluvas on Tuesday, April 14. The festival is also being celebrated with various names like Vishu, Baisakhi, Bihu etc in different parts of India.
On the occasion of Tulu New Year, chief minister of Karnataka B S Yediyurappa, through a tweet, extended greetings on the occasion to the Tulu-speaking people who predominantly live in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kasargod districts.
While wishing that the people will get a fresh mind, new dreams, clothes and eatables on Bisu, he also wished that in the New Year, the pandemic that is affecting the country will be driven away and the people will be able to enjoy a prosperous future.
