Bengaluru, Apr 13: A meeting on the nature of the lockdown being clamped in the state from April 15 onward was held at chief minister's home office, Krishna, on Monday April 13. The participants plan to enforce smart lockdown and have decided against extension of any kind of concession to anyone under any circumstances.

Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, had declared lockdown in the country till April 14, and the state has already decided to extend it till April 30. The government's idea is to tighten lockdown norms in districts and wards where the coronavirus cases are more, and exempting districts or wards where no coronavirus positive cases have emerged so far.

The chief minister had got report on the issue from PWC and held discussions with minsters today. The coronavirus task force team also was present. Discussions were also held on the directions issued by the central government. The meeting has planned to enforce smart lockdown from April 15 strictly.

Under smart lockdown, lockdown will be strictly implemented in areas identified as hot spots. Social distancing will be enforced and it will be ensured that provisions are made available. Gyms, bars, shopping malls, hotels etc cannot function. Inter-state and district borders will remain sealed. Public toilets will be closed. Movement of senior citizens would be totally barred. Liquor shops will likely be opened only for attending to parcels. Paan, gutkha, chewing gum etc will be restrained. Factories, IT/BT companies have to follow a system in which 50 percent of employees will work. Industries will be allowed to open to give fillip to production and allow workers to have jobs. Agricultural products will be allowed to be transported and supplied. Horticulture activities also will be allowed. Farmers will be allowed to sow seeds.

Liquor is certainly not an Essential Commodity - instead allow Citi Bread Mangalore to
operate and supply bread., that has been off the shelves now for over a month!

ALLOWING LIQUOR SHOPS TO RUN BUSINESS ON PARCEL SERVICE is
certainly the most dummest plan. Revenue for the State cannot supersede
lives - as there will be no control on the purchase - as the Liquor shops are
notorious in selling loose booze, and the labor class will certainly make the most of it.

How sad, no matter what stature, wealth, belief, color, looks, ultimately we all go under the earth. What matters is what we do here in this unpredictable short span called life.
