Rains accompanied by hailstorm bring welcome respite to Bantwal, Karkala

Bantwal/Karkala, Apr 12: Residents of Bantwal in Dakshina Kannada and Karkala in Udupi district were in for a pleasant surprise on Sunday April 12 as they witnessed sudden rain and hailstorm.

After days of extreme heat, strong winds and rain accompanied by hailstorm were reported in several places in Bantwal taluk.

Rain started pelting Bantwal taluk at around 4 pm. Even though it was short spell, the rain brought welcome respite to the people.

Hailstones were witnessed in Bantwal town, Jakribettu and Shamboor.

In Karkala, hailstones were reported in several places. People rushed out of the houses in excitement and photos and videos of people collecting hailstones went viral in no time.

    When European countrys are far away from cold weather and thermometer is already showing raising temperature ,India is getting hailstorm.Very good.Atleast due to Corona less vehicles are on road,atmosphere is becoming pleasent.Hope this corona will disappear soon and we can move free outside.

    Dunno whether it can be called ' Welcome Respite'.!
    For according to study and reports it is been said that he COVID 19 has less chances of survival in extreme heat ! What we were considering as a Bane has indeed turned into a Boon for us !
    Look at the Havoc this Virus has created in cold countries for it can thrive there !
    Pray God for kind mercies...
    Hope to see the end of this calamity by May end therefore.
