Mangalore: Attempt to Steal KUDCEMP Pipes Worth Rs 3 lac – Two Arrested

Mangalore, Jul 6: Police arrested two persons when they were trying to steal 18 cement pipes worth Rs 3 lac from the site at Bangra Kulur wherein Karnataka Urban Development and Coastal Environmental Management Project (KUDCEMP) pipeline works were being undertaken.

The duo Manjunath, tipper driver and Fakeerappa, JCB operator were employees of contractor Sandeep. Police red-handedly caught them when they were trying to load the pipes through JCB into the tipper.  

KUDCEMP engineer Ravi Babu has registered a complaint against the two at Kavoor police station.

    People should wonder about KUDCEMP,a Un-organized Organization. Finally they came to realize that pipes are stolen. As if they care if pipes are stolen or not because it is someone elses money. If KUDCEMP officials ever know where their pipes are scattered around Mangalore. There were pipes near Baithurly,Near Kudupu. Finally one by one they are gone, one at a time loaded on pick up truck. There are atleast 100 pipes are scattered near Nandigudda-Bappal area for the past 4 years. Some are already burried under dirt. These pipes may be costing in Lacs of Rupees. I even went to Minister Palemar''s office regarding these pipes. But 2 years already passed and pipes are still burried under dirt. We public are paying ADB through SAS Taxes. Corruption at the peak,for which We Citizens have to suffer.
