Mangaluru: Health week held at Lourdes Central School

Mangaluru, Aug 6: “Health is a boon bestowed by the Almighty. The body remains healthy if the mind is kept healthy by physical hygiene, meditation and exercises. Clean thoughts and creative activities take a major role in maintaining the health of the body and mind,” said Lourdes Central School principal Fr Robert D’Souza. “It will be possible for us to achieve anything when we are healthy. A healthy person forms a healthy society. Students will grow in mind and body if they have good health,” he said.

Lourdes Central School held a health week with importance to physical health and mental equilibrium to create awareness on health among students.

Information on importance of health was given in daily prayer meetings of the school. Awareness on health was created by handbills and detailed information on school noticeboards.

Dr Amita Rao Aroor gave information to the PUC students on how to ease pressure, mental concentration, mental health etc.

Dr Rajesh gave information to eighth standard students on challenges of puberty. Dr Deepak Shedde gave information to ninth and tenth standard students about physical growth and awareness.

Dr Hema Mallya in the programme held for teaching and non teaching staff informed how to maintain health after the age of 40.

Expert doctors from prestigious A J Medical College and KMC, Mangaluru examined teeth, ears, nose and throat of the students.

Teachers Lynette D’Souza, Matilda Pinto, Jasmine Shinoz, Anny Lobo and Gretta Menezes integrated the programme. Vice principal Belita Mascarenhas cooperated.
