Beltangadi, Nov 27: We worship God to fulfill our dreams and desires. Through dharma one will get Brahmananda, said Isha Foundation Founder Jagadish Vasudev. He lamented that people resort to hatredness in the name of religion.
“God is the inner feeling related to heart. The basic principle of culture is Dharma. According to one’s feelings and culture, one can visualise God,” said Coimbatore Isha Foundation Founder Jagadish Vasudev.
Speaking at the inauguration of 76th Sarvadharma sammelana as a part of Lakshdeepothsava in Dharmasthala, he said: “We worship God to fulfill our dreams and desires. Through dharma one will get Brahmananda.”
He lamented that people resort to hatredness in the name of religion. In the name of dharma, one should not lose humanity. Various religions are not for struggle or fight but to spread harmony.”
Earlier in his welcome speech, Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade said “whole world is surrounded by dharma. If one moves further in the backdrop of dharma, progress can be achieved. With good thought, good speech, and good action, humanbeings can win the world.”
He said propagation of principles of a religion is not wrong. However, while propagating, one should not forget the religiosity.
He hoped that the people develop a feeling of respect towards all the religions. SKDRDP in six districts with 25,000 SHGs are striving for the overall development of 7.5 lac families in the State, he added.
Dr Heggade released Prof Y T Balakrishna’s ‘Kalikeya vikalathe,’ Devakumara Shastri’s ‘Nandi mangala vidhana’ and Dr Varada Srinivas’s ‘Bharatheshana Dinachari.’
Assembly Speaker Jagadeesh Shettar, Wakf Minister Dr Mumthaz Ali Khan and others were present.
