Mangalore Nov 21: The new Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) of Yenepoya Hospital that has been catering to the health needs of the people of the district and surrounding regions will be inaugurated on November 22 at 11 am.
The CCU of the hospital stands upgraded. Modern equipments have also been provided at the new Intensive Thorasic Unit and a team of experienced cardiologists are available for the service of the patients, said Dr Mohammad Tahir, medical director of the Hospital, speaking at a press conference on Thursday November 20.
Dr Harish Raghavan, who is the chief cardiac surgeon of the hospital, has behind him, an experience of having performed over 1500 heart-related surgeries. A team of experienced cardiac surgeons will work under the leadership of Dr Rakesh M G, alongside the chief cardiac surgeon, he said.
Medical education minister Ramachandra Gowda will inaugurate the CCU.
MLA Yogish Bhat, mayor Ganesh Hosabettu, ex-minister MC Nanaiah and Dr V V Shetty, senior cardiologist, will participate as the guests.Y Abdulla Kunni, president, Yenepoya Medical College and Research Institute will preside over the function, he narrated.
Cardiologists Dr Harish, Dr Rakesh and Dr Javed were present at the press conference.
