Mangaluru: St Ann’s College of Education welcomes newly appointed joint secretary

Mangaluru, Jun 28: The newly appointed superior of St Ann’s Convent and joint secretary of St Ann’s Institutions, Sr Maria Kripa AC was welcomed by St Ann’s College of Education with joy and warmth.

The visit of the joint secretary was marked by a programme which commenced by invoking God’s blessings through a prayer dance 'boondh boondh milke bane sagar'. The principal Dr Sr Clare AC welcomed Sr Maria Kripa AC and introduced her to the staff and students. Nirvana D’Souza the student vice-president accorded a floral welcome to sister.

A meaningful prayer service with a message 'to be the light of the world’ was led by Janvi Sanal and the group implored God’s blessings on Sr Maria Kripa.



A thematic dance was performed by Shilpa U and the group depicting joy and pleasure of living in the bosom of beautiful mother earth, its destruction, the consequences of it and the plea of mother earth for protection. The message of rejuvenating mother earth by restoring it to its original beauty and splendour was depicted.

A song titled 'You are a Blessing' was sung by Srs Anitha, Sweedal and group wishing Sr Maria Kripa success in all her endeavours and asking God to make her a blessing to all of them.

The joint secretary addressed the staff and students and appreciated them for choosing the noble profession of teaching. She also urged them to mould the students into worthy citizens of the nation.

The programme was compered by Shwetha M D while Reyanka P O proposed the vote of thanks.

The joint secretary also interacted with the teaching and non-teaching staff of the college. The entire programme was co-ordinated by Srs Dorothy D’Souza and Zeena, the faculty members.
