Mangalore, Jul 3: The revenue department officials should keep regular track to ensure that Bhoomi computerized Right of Tenancy Certificate (RTC) centres function properly in the city said MLA K Abhaychandra Jain here on Monday, July 2.
He was speaking at the tri-monthly review meeting of Karnataka Development Programme (KDP) held at the taluk panchayat office premises here, on Monday July 2.
Jain said that there were complaints against disfunctioning of Bhoomi centres. Some of them were charging more than recommended fees in order to issue computerized copies of land records, he added.
Responding to this allegation, the revenue department officials answered that the state government has given Bhumi centres’ contract to private hands directly from Bangalore and hence the officials had nothing to do in this matter.
Expressing doubts over the state government for not setting up the centres at Nada Kacheri premises, Jain said officials have the power to scrutinize operation of the centre and submit the report.
He further said that the officials in Bangalore had rejected the list of beneficiaries this time, as it did not contain the details of the land separated for the scheme. He told the officials to make a distinction between the lands at gram panchayat level and then submit the report before the next meeting of the KDP.
