Bantwal: Sarapady mandal panchayat former president Narayana Alva passes away

Bantwal, Nov 27: Narayana Alva Paddayibettu (89), a resident of Paddayibettu in Sarapady village and former president of Sarapady Mandal Panchayat, passed away on November 27 following a brief illness. He is survived by three sons and two daughters.

A progressive farmer, Narayana Alva was actively involved in the Congress party for many years and was a close associate of B Ramanath Rai.

He served as the president of Sarapady Mandal Panchayat for 25 years, as well as the president of the Maninalkur Agricultural Service Cooperative Society. He was also the president of the Sarapady Government School Development Committee and played a key role in establishing the Sarapady Milk Producers’ Cooperative Society, serving as its founding president.

Known for his simple and kind-hearted nature, Narayana Alva enjoyed widespread public affection.

Prominent figures, including former ZP member B Padmashekar Jain, former taluk panchayat standing committee president Sampath Kumar Shetty, Bantwal Block Congress president Balakrishna Anchan, and Maninalkur Cooperative Bank CEO Sudhakar Shetty Heggadekodi, paid their respects to the departed leader.

Several dignitaries, including former minister B Ramanath Rai, have expressed their condolences.
