Bengaluru, Nov 27: As part of its ongoing commitment to driving positive change through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, Alliance University organised an awareness session on alcohol and drugs at Hakki Pikki Village, Bannerghatta National Park, Bengaluru Rural, with the participation of over 60 villagers.
This session was conducted in collaboration with the Alliance Alumni Association and the NSS wing. Dr Lingaraju G, general manager and counsellor, de-addiction and counselling centre, TREDA, was the keynote speaker.
Dr Viswanathaiah Matam, registrar of Alliance University, also addressed the gathering, emphasising the importance of such initiatives in improving community health and well-being. Registrar general, Surekha Shetty, PR executive, Sanath Kumar, assistant manager at Alliance alumni office, Sweta Chetri, and village members Ravi Shankar and Srikanth graced the event.
Alliance University has adopted Hakki Pikki Village as part of its CSR programme. This initiative aims to encourage healthier lifestyle choices, foster peer discussions on the prevention of alcohol and tobacco use, and enhance awareness of health-related issues.
It created a supportive environment where villagers could make informed decisions about their health. To provide further support, Alliance University plans to conduct counselling sessions in the village.
