Mangaluru: Two arrested for throwing poultry waste near temple

Mangaluru,Jan 6: Relating to an incident in which poultry waste was disposed near the compound wall of the temple at Krishnapura. The arrested accused have been ideantified as Syed (30) and Rizwan (36).

Poultry waste dumped by the side of the temple compound was found on Sunday January 4 evening. After the news spread,devotees of the temple and general public protested against the incident. Police officers reached the spot thereafter, arranged for shifting the waste, and pacified the protesters by promising them to arrest the guilty.

The police thereafter raided all the shops in the area which deal in poultry birds, and undertook investigation. The policemen said that the arrested persons have confessed that those operating a shop located in Krishnapura 6th block that deals in chicken had advised them to throw the waste near the temple compound with the specific purpose of igniting communal clashes.
