Bantwal: Govt employees demand strict action against accused for disrupting RI’s office

Bantwal, Nov 14: Members of the State Government Employees’ Association, taluk branch, submitted a memorandum to the tahsildar at Bantwal administrative office, urging strict action against those accused of unlawfully entering the office of revenue inspector Prashant Shetty at Vittal, verbally abusing him with offensive language, issuing death threats, vandalizing office property, and obstructing official duties.

Speaking after submitting the memorandum to tahsildar Archana D Bhat, taluk association president Umanath Rai Meravu and president-elect Shivaprasad Shetty stated that the incident has demoralized government employees, creating a fearful atmosphere in the office. They also noted that one of the accused, against whom a case has been registered, had even threatened the shirastedar at the Bantwal tahsildar’s office. The association urged immediate arrest of the accused and requested that measures be taken to ensure a safe working environment for government employees.

The Revenue Department Employees’ Association has also condemned the incident. Taluk association honorary president Rajesh Naik issued a statement demanding strict action.

Present during the submission of the memorandum were taluk association president Umanath Rai Meravu, president-elect Shivaprasad Shetty, state council member Janardhan J, taluk treasurer Basayya Almatty, taluk president of the Village Administration Officers’ Association Anil K Poojary, deputy tahsildars Naveen Benjanapadavu, Narendranath Mittur, Divakar Mugulya, revenue inspectors Vijay and Prashant Shetty, and directors and officials from various government departments.
