Karkala, Nov 15: A tragic incident occurred in Nitte Parappadi, where a woman lost her life due to an electric shock while preparing for her brother's memorial service.

The deceased, identified as Lalitha Bondre, died on Thursday night.

Raghu Bondre, a resident of Nitte Parappadi, had passed away recently. His sister, Lalitha, had come to assist in the preparations for his memorial service. On Thursday night, while washing cooking utensils, she accidentally touched an iron pole supporting a tent outside the house. She received an electric shock, collapsed, and died instantly.

It is believed that a tube light was installed on the iron pole during the tent setup, causing an electric leak that led to this unfortunate incident.

RIP; first RTAs, and secondly deaths due to accidentally coming in contact with haphazardly connected live HT wires/drowning has become too common a feature in the last few years; pathetic state of affairs in a place which boasts to be very smart; and the power utility supplier may be one of the worst employing contract employes; no value for human life!

Sir, unfortunately people in this region are very smart. They are mostly busy with NAMO, RAGA and unlimited data.
