Grand celebration of Sri Krishna-Tulasi Vivah held in Mumbai

Mumbai, Nov 14: The Tulasi Pooja, observed from Kartika Masa Shukla Paksha Bali Pratipade to Uttanadwadashi, was celebrated with great enthusiasm under the joint aegis of Gopalkrishna Public Trust and BSKB Association.

From November 2 to November 12, various cultural events including Harinama Bhajan, Bharatanatyam, Tala Vadya Kacheri, Saxophone music, and other entertainment programmes were organized by Gokula Bajana Mandali and Gokula Cultural Educational Centre. Additionally, Tulasi Sankeerthane was performed by priests from various maths, followed by the Tulasi Pooja.

On November 12, Wednesday, the auspicious day of Sri Krishna Tulasi Vivaha, Veda Moorthy Daregudde Srinivasa Bhat and priest Akshay Ballal adorned the idol of Sri Gopalkrishna and performed the Tulasi Pooja and Sankeertane during the Uttana Dwadashi Parva Kala in the morning, following the daily pooja rituals.

In the evening, Shalini Udupa beautifully decorated the idol of Tulasi Devi at the adorned Tulasi Vrindavan. After the night pooja at Sri Gopalkrishna Temple, the Sri Krishna Tulasi Vivaha and Ksheerabdi Mahotsav were conducted by the sponsors of the day, Dr. Suresh S. Rao and Vijayalaxmi, under the leadership of Daregudde Srinivasa Bhat. The event included Tulasi Sankeerthane, followed by the distribution of Theertha Prasada and light snacks.

As part of the cultural programme, a Saxophone performance was given by Ashish Devadiga, accompanied by Padmaraj. Vidushi Maithili Rao and her team performed devotional songs, with co-singers Jyotsna Punganoor and Saili Nayak. Siddartha Mesta and Siddarth Padiyar played the Harmonium and Tabla, respectively. Dr. Suresh S. Rao and Vijayalaxmi Suresh Rao felicitated the artistes with shawls. The event was compered by Prema Rao.

The Sri Krishna Tulasi Kalyanotsava was held in a grand manner, attended by members of the Gopalkrishna Public Trust Vishwastha Mandali, the religious committee, office bearers of the BSKB Association, executive committee members, and hundreds of devotees.
