According to the SP, Afreena has given a self-declaration in which she stated that she attempted to medically terminate her 7–8-month-old pregnancy without undergoing any legal procedures. During the process, she suddenly experienced severe abdominal pain and left the baby in the mosque toilet. She is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital, and further enquiry will resume after her discharge.
The police have also raised concerns over the spread of misinformation on social media. “Many are circulating fake messages regarding this case. I urge the public not to share any unverified or false content. Strict action will be taken against those spreading fake messages on social media,” the SP warned.
