Panaji, Mar 27: In a major boost for infrastructure development across Goa, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has announced a Rs 100 crore allocation for each MLA’s constituency starting from the 2025-26 financial year.

Presenting the state budget, Sawant stated that every legislator will have the opportunity to propose infrastructure projects worth up to Rs 100 crore through various government departments. "From this financial year, MLAs will receive approvals for infrastructure projects in their constituencies through different departments, ensuring equitable development across the state," he said.

Addressing a press conference alongside chief secretary V Candavelou after unveiling the budget, Sawant clarified that MLAs will be required to coordinate directly with the respective departments to execute their proposed projects. He also emphasized that the funds will be strictly allocated for infrastructure initiatives involving capital expenditure.

This move is expected to accelerate development at the constituency level and provide legislators with greater autonomy in addressing local infrastructure needs.
