Agartala, Mar 31: In a shocking incident in southern Tripura’s Sabroom subdivision, a mentally ill man was lynched by an enraged mob on Sunday after he fatally attacked a neighbor with an iron rod.

The accused, identified as 40-year-old Asish Debnath from Kalacherra village, reportedly went into a violent frenzy. When two neighbors attempted to pacify him, he turned aggressive, killing one of them, Deshaprita Bhattacharjee, on the spot while the other escaped.

After the attack, Asish carried the victim’s body to a nearby pond, where villagers alerted the police. As he attempted to flee upon spotting the police, a mob chased him down and brutally assaulted him. He was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Police revealed that Asish had previously been arrested for attacking police personnel but was later released on bail. Authorities have registered two separate cases, and investigations are underway.

A forensic team, along with senior police officials and an executive magistrate, has visited the crime scene. The incident has sparked panic and tension in the Sabroom subdivision, with locals claiming that the accused had injured three others before the fatal attack.

So sad .Now tell me ,who is here the sick and who is the healthy normal Person. However one should consider the mentally ill person to leave alone and inform Police instead fighting with him.Suppose he starts to hit and kill .bind him and put him in a room and lock, but not go to extent of killing. Its now two lives are gone.Heartfelt sympathy to families.May their souls rest in peace.
