Mangaluru, Mar 12: The department of postgraduate studies and research in chemistry at St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) organized a one-day, national-level, intercollegiate fest, ANALYST-2025, on March 11, at the Fr L F Rasquinha Auditorium, LCRI Block. The event witnessed the participation of over 400 students from various undergraduate and postgraduate colleges. ANALYST-2025 was primarily sponsored by Heranba Industries Ltd, along with support from other esteemed patrons.
Kanyan Sadashiva Shetty, an alumnus of St Aloysius Deemed to be University, and founder of Heranba Industries Ltd, was the chief guest. Dr Praveen Martis SJ, vice chancellor of St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) presided over the programme. Dr Alwyn D’Sa, registrar of St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Dr Ronald Nazareth, registrar of St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Dr Asha Abraham, director of LCRI Block, Dr Vinola Zeena Rodrigues, head of department of postgraduate studies and research in chemistry, Dr Racheal Nathasha Mary, head of department of chemistry, Jeesu George, convener of the programme, student co-ordinators, Vaishak and Shaina were present on the dais.





















The event began with a prayer rendition by the chemistry team and was followed by a glorious welcome with a classical dance and a short visual profile featuring St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) and the department of post graduate studies and research in chemistry. Jeesu George welcomed the gathering and set the right tune to the event.
The ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries imbued the assembly with auspicious significance. Analyst 2025 was inaugurated formally by unveiling of the ANALYST-2025 banner newly designed by the students of PG Chemistry.
The chief guest, Kanyana Sadashiv Shetty, delivered an inspiring inaugural address, sharing his journey from an agricultural background to becoming a successful industrialist in the field of agrochemicals. With gratitude, he acknowledged the institution’s role in shaping his future. Emphasizing the significance of chemistry in daily life, Kanyana Sadashiv Shetty stated that everything we are and consume involves chemical processes. Furthermore, he clarified that chemicals are not inherently dangerous unless they are overused. He also provided insights into the structural synthesis of heavy molecules on a large scale and discussed the importance of all elements in chemistry. Concluding the address, Kanyana Sadashiv Shetty encouraged students to consider chemistry as a career option, highlighting its vast opportunities in various fields.
Dr Praveen Martis, SJ, addressed the gathering and commended the department of PG chemistry for organizing a remarkable event. Emphasizing the importance of basic sciences, he inspired young students to aim high and pursue research in this field. He encouraged everyone to cherish the memorable experiences of the fest and the vibrant campus atmosphere. Furthermore, Dr Praveen praised the dedication and meticulous planning of the staff and student organizers, acknowledging their efforts in making Analyst 2025 a resounding success.

Calvina Pinto, a student of PG chemistry compered the programme and Vaishak proposed the vote of thanks.
The valedictory programme was presided over by Dr Ronald Nazareth, registrar of St Aloysius (Deemed to be University). He addressed the participants, inspired them to pursue their careers in basic science courses and warmly welcomed them to the department of chemistry. He commended the organizers for their outstanding efforts in hosting the Analyst 2025 and emphasized how such activities foster lasting memories, knowledge and organizing skills of the students.
Smrithi Hebbar, compered the programme and Shaina, student coordinator proposed a vote of thanks.
A total of 12 events were conducted separately for the PG and UG streams during Analyst-2025. The events included: ice-breaker, seminar, documentary making, quiz, fashion walk, escape room, rangoli, face painting, collage, video juggling, auction and star of analyst.
The overall championship in the UG section was won by Vivekananda College, Puttur and runners-up by St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru.
The overall championship in the PG section was won by SDM College (Autonomous), Ujire and runners-up by University College, Hampankatta, Mangaluru.
