Mangaluru, Mar 12: The Institute of Management and Commerce, department of BCom, organized a guest talk on ‘Food etiquettes and mannerism’ on March 11 for II BCom ACCA and honors students, delivered by Prof Kevin Amrith, assistant professor, Institute of Hotel Management, Srinivas University.
The session emphasized the significance of proper dining etiquette in both social and professional settings, covering key aspects such as table manners, correct use of cutlery, napkin etiquette, posture, communication at the table, and international dining practices.



Prof Kevin provided practical demonstrations and interactive discussions, helping students understand the importance of presenting themselves confidently in formal dining scenarios. He highlighted common mistakes, cultural differences in dining etiquette, and the impact of good manners on professional growth. The session was engaging and informative, equipping students with essential life skills.
The session was held under the guidance of Dr Venkatesh Amin, dean of Institute of management and commerce, Prof Sharmila Shetty, HoD of BCom department, Prof Yashashwi A Ail, course coordinator of ACCA, supported by the dedicated efforts of the entire BCom faculty team.
