Davanagere, Mar 9: The International Women's Day, which is a global celebration for women's empowerment, was celebrated in a very meaningful way at St Aloysius International School and Pre-University College, Harihar.
The programme began with an interfaith-prayer and was inaugurated by watering a plant. On this occasion, the director of the institution, Fr Eric Matthias SJ; the principal of the College, Pushpalatha Urs; the school principal, Sister Shanti David FSI; the school vice principal, Father Vinod A J SJ; director of Boys Hostel Father John Baptist SJ; college vice principal Mousin Ullah, Pascal Fernandes and all the teaching, lecturer and non-teaching staff were present.















Presiding over the programme, the director, Fr Eric Matthias SJ, explained the precious role of women in the progress of society and the country, from leading the family to serving as teachers and lecturers, working day and night for the betterment of St Aloysius Educational Institution. The female staff members as well as some students of PU College, who have contributed for the growth of the institution were honoured on the stage as a symbol of their commitment to service and loyalty.
In order to entertain the lady staff and the female students of the institution some games were conducted by the organisers. School student Alan Prince expressed the importance of the day through a speech. Kannada teacher Manjunath L S conducted the felicitation program. College student Tejaswi welcomed the students, students Jebin-Sanket compered the programme and student Ekanth delivered the vote of thanks.
Dawood, the school teacher organised the programme meticulously as the coordinator of this programme.
The programme concluded with the national anthem.
