Mangaluru, Sep 14: Yenepoya Institute of Technology, Moodbidri, conferred BE degrees to the 2020-21 batch of students at its Graduation Day 2024 ceremony held at Yenepoya School of Engineering and Technology.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr Prabhakara B K, vice principal of YIT, who set the tone for the momentous occasion.
Prof P L Dharma, vice chancellor of Mangalore University, emphasized the importance of reflection, diligence, and continuous learning in his keynote address. "Graduates must recognize their purpose, address the nation's challenges, and become valuable assets to society," he stressed.
Dr Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi, chancellor of Yenepoya (deemed to be university), presided over the event and encouraged graduates to explore new opportunities, recognize their potential, and shape their futures.
The ceremony honoured outstanding students, including Naema Thasneem (Electronics and Communication Engineering) for securing 2nd rank in the VTU examination and Suresh (Mechanical Engineering) for securing the Late A Thimmaiah Gold Medal.
Dignitaries present included Yenepoya Abdullah Javeed, director of operations, Yenepoya Group, Dr Akhtar Hussain, secretary of the Islamic Academy of Education, and heads of various engineering disciplines.
The graduation oath was administered by Dr R G D'Souza, dean of Yenepoya School of Engineering and Technology. Prof Nazia compered the programme, while Dr Nagaraj P introduced the chief guest and Prof Vani R proposed a vote of thanks.
The event was meticulously coordinated by Dr Shashank M Gowda, associate professor, Department of ECE, and Prof Abdul Rahiman, assistant professor, Department of ME, and student welfare officer, who ensured a seamless and memorable experience for all attendees.
The ceremony was attended by faculty members, graduates, and parents, marking a significant milestone in the academic journey of YIT's students.
