Kasargod, Sep 14: Udaya Higher Secondary School commemorated Teachers' Day on September 13th with a grand celebration at the Udaya School Auditorium, paying tribute to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
The event commenced in the presence of Dr Leo Lasrado, secretary of CBE Mangaluru and manager of Udaya Educational Institutions, Jerald Ivan Crasta, principal; and Fr Santhosh D’Souza, campus director.
Students from various sections of the school presented a range of cultural performances to honour their teachers. Shahala, a 10th-standard student, delivered a speech on the significance of Teachers' Day, while high school students expressed their gratitude by singing a special song dedicated to their teachers. Lower primary students performed a value-based dance, and upper primary students enthralled the audience with an Onam-themed dance performance.
In his address, campus director Fr Santhosh D’Souza emphasized the vital role of teachers as guides, mentors, and role models in students' lives. The principal, Jerald Ivan Crasta, highlighted that teachers are the foundation for a brighter future, empowering students to become responsible global citizens. Dr Leo Lasrado, in his message, stressed the critical role of educators in shaping the future generation.
The programme was composed by young students, Fiya Selma (3rd Std) and Hammed Aman (4th Std). Rushda Abdul Razak (4th Std) delivered the welcome speech, while Fathimath Binth Jasir (3rd Std) and Nafeesa Hibah (5th Std) expressed their gratitude through the vote of thanks.
The event was a resounding success, leaving both teachers and students with cherished memories of gratitude and respect.
