Mangaluru: Mathematics workshop for DKPUC lecturers held

Mangaluru, Sep 12: A mathematics workshop for DKPUC lecturers was held on September 11, at Sri Ramakrishna PU College as part of its decennial celebrations. C D Jayanna, deputy director of PUE, DK, presided over the event, congratulating lecturers on their excellent PU Board exam results and urging them to maintain DK's top position.

Chief guest Jayanand Suvarna, president of the DK PU College Principals' Association, emphasized that while Artificial Intelligence is advancing, it cannot replace the creativity, empathy, and guidance provided by teachers. A highlight of the workshop was the release of the book Math Made Easy, which contains chapter-wise questions, solutions, model papers, and assignments, aimed at assisting both lecturers and students.

The retired staff members Shailaja from Canara PU College and Shyamala Raj from St Mary’s PU College were honoured. Madhukar Salins, retired principal of Moodbidri Jain College, delivered a key presentation on few textbook concepts and innovative teaching approaches. Lawrence Sequeira of Pompei PU college and Adarsh principal Vittal PU College led sessions on the changing trends in question papers and the importance of topic-wise weightage.

The principal, Yashoda U Shetty of Sri Ramakrishna College was the special guest on dais. Kiran Shetty, vice president of Math forum compered the programme and Anupama, secretary of Math Forum rendered the vote of thanks.

The workshop was highly informative, equipping lecturers with the tools and inspiration to continue their pursuit of academic excellence.
