Kasargod, Jul 23: Udaya Higher Secondary School hosted its school investiture ceremony and club inauguration on July 23. The event was graced by the chief guest, Fr Johnson Sequeira, principal of Lourdes Central School, Bejai. The principal of Udaya Higher Secondary School, Jerald Ivan Crasta, and the campus director, Fr Santhosh D’Souza, were also present on the dais.
The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome by Fathima Muhsina. The newly elected student leaders were then introduced, including the School Pupil Leader (SPL) Alwin Sijo and the Assistant School Pupil Leader (ASPL) Ahamed Kalander Ayyan. House leaders were also announced: Mohammed Samhan and Fasiha for the red house, Ibrahim Abaan and Fathima for the blue house, Aboobacker Ajlan and Fathima Shahala for the yellow house, and Priston D'Souza and Khadeejath Rashida for the green house.
The event was skilfully hosted by MCs Ayesha Muneera and Mariyamma Faza, who kept the audience engaged throughout the proceedings. Various school clubs, including the Social, Maths, Science, Information Technology, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam clubs, showcased a variety of cultural programmes that highlighted the diverse talents of the students.
Fr Johnson Sequeira, in his inspiring address, emphasized the importance of inculcating values such as discipline, being a role model, inspiration, and commitment among the students. He highlighted that these qualities are essential for personal growth and the development of a strong school community. Fr Johnson Sequeira urged the newly elected leaders to set exemplary standards for their peers and to lead with integrity and dedication.
Principal Jerald Ivan Crasta, in his speech, encouraged the students to seize every opportunity that comes their way. He stressed that the school provides a platform for students to explore their interests and develop their skills, and it is up to the students to make the most of these opportunities. Principal Jerald Crasta reiterated the school's commitment to fostering an environment that nurtures both academic and extracurricular excellence.
Fr Santhosh D’Souza, the campus director, also expressed his pride in the student leaders and the efforts of the school in organizing such a significant event. He commended the students for their hard work and dedication, and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence in all their endeavours.
The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Simra Fathima, who expressed gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event, including the staff, students, and guests.
