Mangaluru, Jun 28: The department of forensic science, Institute of Allied Health Sciences, Srinivas University and department of forensic medicine, Srinivas Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Mukka in collaboration with PG Department of criminology and forensic Science, School of Social Work, Mangaluru is organizing a day-long national conference on the theme ‘Addiction Forensics - The Drug Investigation' in Hall 1, Mukka Campus on July 1. The inauguration of the conference will be done by Manoj Kumar Naik, assistant commissioner of police, Mangaluru North Sub Division.
The conference will be touching upon some recent and interesting areas of forensics analysis of drug abuse including laws pertaining to possession, consumption and sale of drugs, psychological manifestation of drug abuse, forensic medicine in drug analysis, crime scene investigation, and unveiling the dark web. After the deliberations there will be various competitions including scramblers, heads-up and 20 questions with exciting cash prizes for the winners.
During the recent few years, a steady hike has been noticed in the cases of drug abuse targeting various age groups which is an actual concern. To make the conference more impactive and interactive, oral and poster presentation will be held for both staffs and students.
The main objective of the conference is to motivate and impart knowledge to the students and forensic professionals and to benefit the various organizations working and dealing with Forensics. Over 170 delegates throughout the Country have registered for the programme.
The deliberations of the national conference will be done by eminent speakers:
