Sonbhadra, Apr 20: A joyous wedding celebration in Uttar Pradesh's Sonbhadra district turned tragic on Saturday night after a teenager lost his life and another was injured while fleeing a brawl over DJ song selections, police said.
The deceased has been identified as 17-year-old Mohit Yadav. According to Circle Officer Pradeep Singh Chandel, the incident took place in Sardiha village when a wedding procession from Pokhra Chainpur reached the residence of Ramsaneh Vishwakarma.

What began as a minor dispute over which songs to play soon spiraled out of control. “A quarrel broke out within the wedding party, which soon involved three men who had come merely to witness the celebration. The wedding attendees reportedly turned violent and began assaulting them,” the CO said.
In an attempt to escape the chaos, Yadav and another man fled in the dark and accidentally fell into a nearby well. While the other youth was rescued with injuries, Mohit Yadav could not be saved.
Police rushed to the spot, sent Yadav’s body for post-mortem at Duddhi Community Health Center, and ensured the injured youth received prompt medical care.
Authorities have begun registering an FIR, and a detailed investigation into the incident is currently underway.
