Mangaluru, Mar 31: Srinivas Institute of Physiotherapy has a state-of-the-art musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy department, where students are exposed to all types of orthopedic and sports injuries patients who require physiotherapy treatment.

The outpatient department has carved a niche in electrotherapy and exercise equipment where physiotherapy students have been clinically trained on a patient bedside teaching model.

Here, they are one among the few teaching institutions in physiotherapy to have advanced equipments like Repetitive Peripheral Magnetic Stimulation device (RPMS), Spinal Decompression Device (DTS), Advanced LASER therapy, VIVA fitness multi gymnasium, EMG biofeedback, Force platform, where the students have been trained with advanced knowledge on orthopaedic and sports rehabilitation.

Here in the department students are exposed from a basic level to advanced manual therapy treatment, individual attention and clinical teachings are emphasized during the student’s clinical postings with the focus of teaching to make advanced classroom concepts and theories into clinical practice.

They also organize, constant international workshops and alumni talks thereby update and promoting high-level ethics, etiquette and intellectual abilities in students. Engaging students with clinical case, journal, and topic presentations in the OPD empowers them with independent professional competence. The musculoskeletal physiotherapy department has its MOU with different corporate clinical setups thereby assist in employment and guidance, that provides overall support to the students' career and growth.
