Gwalior, Apr 23: In a deeply troubling incident in Dabra, Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior district, two young men attempted to sexually assault a three-year-old girl living in a rented house owned by one of the accused. The shocking event occurred under the jurisdiction of the Dabra City Police Station.

The accused, identified as Akash Gupta and his friend Luv, visited the victim's family on Tuesday afternoon while the girl's mother was occupied with cooking. They lured the child under the pretext of buying her toffees from a nearby shop. Reports indicate that the assault attempt took place in a car, although the medical report has yet to confirm any sexual assault, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Jitendra Nagaich.

When the girl returned home, she appeared terrified and mute. Upon questioning by her mother, she disclosed the harrowing experience. The parents promptly reported the incident to the police, leading to the arrest of both suspects. An FIR has been filed against them under various sections, including the POCSO Act, and the statements of the girl and her mother were recorded with videography.

This incident follows another tragic case in the Bada Malehra area of Chhatarpur district, where an eight-year-old girl was lured with toffees and brutally killed after an attempted sexual assault. The severity of these crimes has sparked outrage, with State Congress President Jitu Patwari condemning the incidents and criticizing the government's response to such heinous acts.
