Mangaluru, Mar 27: Srinivas College of Pharmacy in association with Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Dakshina Kannada district, local branch, Mangaluru organised World Tuberculosis Awareness day on March 24.
Dr A R Shabaraya, principal & director, Srinivas College of Pharmacy and president, Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Dakshina Kannada district, Mangaluru in his presidential remarks, appreciated the concern and vigilance of the students about tuberculosis. Dr E VS Subrahmanyam, professor, Srinivas College of Pharmacy and vice president, Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Dakshina Kannada district, local branch, Mangaluru detailed about the cause of tuberculosis symptoms and preventive measures.
First DPharma students gave detailed information on tuberculosis treatment and control. On this occasion, a short film on tuberculosis symptoms and treatment was screened by second DPharm students.
As a part of the programme, rally was flagged off by Dr A R Shabaraya, principal and director, Srinivas College of Pharmacy. The students distributed pamphlets on TB awareness to the house holds about the symptoms and tests by visiting all the houses in Valachil village.
Dr Karunakara Hegde, Dr Kumar Prasad, Dr Sudhansh Tantri, Vaishnavi, and Smita Rai, faculty members were present during the programme.
