Mangaluru, Mar 20: The Commerce Forum of St Agnes (Autonomous), organised a session on financial literacy - 'The Passport to a good financial destination' for the extra curricular association members of the Commerce Forum on March 18.
The programme hosted by Nikitha Shetty, student co-ordinator, began with a prayer song led by Leesha and Sherlita. Then, followed by a welcome speech and an introduction of the resource person by Vineetha N T, staff co-ordinator, and followed by a floral welcome by Nikitha.
The resource person for the session, Crystal Rodrigues, an alumna of the college and currently a research scholar at NITK, Surathkal, addressed the gathering on the topic by introducing the topic and gauging our understanding of the term 'Financial Literacy'.
She continued by making the session a two way discussion among the students and herself and resumed with discussing the objectives and the necessity of being financially literate, narrating her own experience. The students were then asked to fill a questionnaire where they were tested on their financial literacy level and the talk ended with memes that invoked laughter among the gathering and credible sources where they could learn and gather information regarding the same topic.
