Mumbai, Feb 21 (IANS) A benchmark index for Indian equities markets Monday was flat in early trade.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 18,238.54 points, was ruling at 18,216.96 points, up 5.44 points or 0.03 percent from its previous close at 18,211.52 points.
The 50-scrip S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange was trading 0.09 percent lower at 5,453.8 points.
Broader markets were also in the red, with the BSE midcap index down 0.53 percent and the BSE small cap index trading 0.18 percent lower.
