Udupi: Shirva Parish Celebrates Feast of Lourdes with Enthusiasm

The annual feast of Lourdes was celebrated with enthusiasm at Shirva parish, here on Friday February 11.
 
The festal mass was celebrated at 6 pm at Irmiz Church. The main celebrant Fr Ronald Santhis from Gujarat, was joined by Fr Stany Fernandes, assistant parish priest, Shirva, Fr Edwin, Fr Maxim SDB and Simao SDB for the mass.
 


The procession which started after the mass at Irmiz Church, went through Shirva junction to reach main Shirva Church. At the Church premises, people irrespective of religion lit candles in front of their shops. It is a symbol of unity amidst diversity in the parish.
 
The two attractive tableau was the centre of attraction this year sponsored by Arul D'Souza and Wilson D'Souza. There were also two set brass band which added special flavour and devotion, sponsored by Stanely Dais and Marvin D’Souza.
 
After the procession, the sponsors were honoured by candles. In all around 1,800 people took part in the festal procession.
