Mangaluru: Yenepoya Pharmacy, Nursing & Physio College holds awareness talk on breast cancer

Mangaluru, Oct 30: National Service Scheme, Yenepoya Pharmacy, Nursing & Physiotherapy College organised “Breast Cancer Awareness Talk” at Kinya campus, Mangaluru to observe October Breast Cancer Awareness Month on October 30 at seminar hall of Yenepoya Pharmacy College.

Dr Malavika Sachith, assistant professor, Department of Community Medicine, Yenepoya Medical College & Hospital conducted an awareness session to educate female non-teaching staff about various aspects of breast cancer. She also shared her knowledge while busting various myths, illuminating therapeutic developments & significances of early identification specially focused on self-breast examination techniques.

The main aim of the session was to educate & inspire all participants to take proactive measures towards a cancer-free society. As many as 50 non-teaching staff from various constituents colleges of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) attended the session.

The session was inaugurated with welcome address by Navya NSS programme officer, Yenepoya Nursing College & ended with vote of thanks by Physiotherapy College NSS programme officer Shifali. Alima Misiriya, assistant professor & member of NSS presented a token of appreciation to resource person.

Event coordinator Mohammed Asif, NSS programme officer & HoD, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Yenepoya Pharmacy College & other teaching staff were present.
