Mangalore, Feb 10: Members of Dakshina Kannada district committee of Popular Front of India (PFI) staged a protest in front of the DC’s office on Thursday February 10 to condemn the order of the state government which drafted a conspiracy to transfer police officer Amith Kumar Singh.
Speaking on the occasion Anwar Sadath, president of Popular Front of India said that the district observed peace and harmony with the committed work of some sincere police officers. Among such officers Amith Kumar who served as ASP in Puttur is known for his crusade against communal goons. But with the influence of some fascist unions, the state government resorted to transfer him with immediate effect, he noted.
Continuing his speech, he added Popular Front of India strongly criticizes the attempt of the state government to reduce the valour of police department in the state. Around hundred protesters took part in the agitation.
Later the committee members submitted a memorandum to the DC which was addressed to the governor, government of Karnataka, director general of police, Karnataka state and home minister, Govt. of Karnataka.
