Mangalore, Feb 10: Sri Bhootanatheshwara Kreedotsava will be formally inaugurated on Saturday February 12at 8.30 am. D V Sadananda Gowda, member of the parliament, Udupi-Chikmagalur constituency, eminent elder Sri Mijarguthu Anand Alva and Dr Mohan Alva, chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation are the dignitaries who will grace the function, informed Vijayanath Shetty at a press meet held in Hotel Goldfinch here on Wednesday February 9.
Sri Bhootanatheshwara Kreedotsava is being held under the auspices of Shasthavu Sri Bhootanatheshwara Temple and Sri Bhoothanatheshwara Bhajana Mandali, Badaga Yedapadavu, Mijar on February 12 and13.
The Kreedotasava is a festival of village games and does an attempt to revive traditional games and sports of Tulunadu region comprise Udupi - Dakshina Kannada – Kasargod regions. Over 1,300 contestants will participate in 21 games of the two-day Kreedotsava. The Kreedotsava will conclude with a dance performance by the renowned actress and Bharata Natyam artiste Padmashri Shobana and her troupe on February 13 at 6.00 pm. The entry to the dance programme is free and all are invited to attend and witness the show.
The organizing committee has appealed to the people to take part in the event in large numbers and make it a grand success.
