Bantwal, Aug 3: As there is wide spike in coronavirus pandemic in Kerala state, officials of the Dakshina Kannada district administration and the police visited Kodange check post, near Salethur, Vittal police station limits and conducted inspection. Assistant director general of police (ADGP) Pratap Reddy has directed for strict action against violations of Covid protocol.
Pratap Reddy earlier visited the check post opened at Talapady Kerala – Karnataka border. He subsequently went to Kodange check post and obtained details from officials.
He asked the deputy commissioner and police officials not to allow anybody in the state without covid negative report as per government orders. “Entry is permitted otherwise only during emergency situations and for students after showing their examination hall tickets.
Train passengers arriving from Kerala are also being examined,” he said. Pratap Reddy said that a Corona test centre was opened at the Mangaluru town hall.
“The officials in the district are in constant communication with Kasargod DC and SP. Therefore there is no confusion between the two states,” he said. He gave further details about police security and tests on the border.
Deputy Commissioner Dr K V Rajendra, district SP Hrishikesh Sonavane, Bantwal tahsildar Rashmi S R, Vittal station police inspector H E Nagaraj and others were present.
