Muscat, Sep 5: As it looks the last quarter of this year, starting from September 2010, is going to be a conglomeration of several festivals. Last week itself, the festivities of Shri Krishna Janmashtami got over and people are now looking forward to celebrate Eid and Ganesh Chaturthi festivities beginning next week followed by various other festivals in the remaining part of the year 2010.
In Muscat, Ganesh Chaturthi celebration preparations are progressing very well and the count down has started. Although the first day of Bhadrapada Shukla Chaturthi falls on Saturday, 11th September, the volunteers in Muscat are planning to gather at the Muscat Shiva Temple premises on Friday, 10th Sept. itself so as to complete the major part of the hall and external decoration.
Shree Ganesh Festival Committee members, viz. Shri Pitambar B.Alke, Shri S. K. Poojary, Shri Koni Prakash Naik, Shri Ramanand Kunder, Shri Ramesh Shettigar, Shri Shashidhar Shetty, Shri Umesh Karkera, Shri Nagesh Shetty, Shri Karunakar Rao, Shri Ashok Kotian, Shri Ravi Kanchan, Shri Mangaldas Kamat and the recently co-opted members, viz. Shri Gurudas Pejathaya, Shri Shreenivas Shriyan, Shri Dr. Anchan C.K. and Shri Kashinath N. Anchan, are striving hard to make this year’s celebrations a grand success in continuation of past 25 years success and popularity.
Thousands of devotees are expected to visit the temple premises through out the 3 days festivities to offer their prayers and seek Lord Ganesh’s blessings. Various cultural/devotional performances are going to be unfurled by different enthusiastic independent groups.
