Dubai: SMKC Dubai Bids Farewell to Fr Freddy D’Souza

Media Release

Dubai, Sep 3: On Wednesday September 1,  prominent representatives of St Mary’s Konkan Community (SMKC), a premier Konkani organization of St Mary’s Church Dubai, gathered in the church office to extend an emotional farewell to their departing spiritual director, Fr Freddy D’Souza.

Fr Fransquinho Gomes, the new assistant parish priest of St Mary’s Church, and the current spiritual director of SMKC, presented a flower Bouquet to Fr Freddy as a mark of gratitude.

Arun D’Souza,  SMKC treasurer, presented a parting gift to the transferred spiritual director, Fr Freddy.  Norbert Sequeira, an eminent member of SMKC, competently presented this brisk felicitation ceremony.

Fr Freddy thanked SMKC and all the Konkan Community members for their love and support extended to him during his tenure in Dubai.  Joe Fernandes, a senior member of SMKC, rendered thanksgiving speech.  Along with the SMKC advisor, Boniface Carlo, several other prominent members and their families were in attendance at this send-off, which proved to be a moving occasion.

St Mary’s Konkan Community is very sad to bid good bye to their much-loved spiritual director, Fr Freddy D’Souza, who, during his five-year stay here, extended wholehearted support and stupendous guidance to the vast Konkani Community of Dubai. However, as Fr Freddy has moved on to Bahrain to continue with his mission, SMKC, along with the entire Konkani community in Dubai, wishes that Fr Freddy will have a triumphant mission in Bahrain, and pray for the success of this God’s chosen shepherd.
