Abu Dhabi, Aug 22: Bearys Welfare Forum (BWF), Abu Dhabi, an association known for its charitable and social activities, organized an Iftar party at the India Social Centre here recently.
Around 600 people took part in this fellowship meal. The event began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, by executive committee member Abdul Rauf.
Muhammed Ali Uchil, president, BWF, welcomed the gathering and conveyed his wishes for the season. He highlighted the recent activities of BWF, especially the mass marriage of fifteen under-privileged girls in Mangalore and distribution of wheel chairs to physically disabled people. He thanked the members for their generosity and continuous support for the social service activities undertaken by BWF.
The general secretary of BWF Abdulla Madumoole appealed to the affluent members of the community to look after their lesser previliged and downtrodden brethren, referring to verses from the holy Quran.
Hamza Abdul Khader, Sheikh Bava, vice-presidents of BWF along with guests Dr Viqar Azim, Siraj Ahmed of 'Sahibaan' community, Mohidu Saheb of IIC and Abdul Salam of ISC were on the dais.
Light refreshments (snacks, fruits and juices) were served during the Iftar time, followed by a sumptuous dinner. The event was an opportunity for the people to interact with their friends and relative from different parts of Abu Dhabi. Some of them even travelled all the way from Dubai and Al Ain to join the party.
Co-coordinator of BWF Rafiq Krishnapur compered the programme and thanked the guests for gracing the occasion and all the members of the executive committee for their wholehearted support.
He specifically emphasized the efforts put in by the vice-presidents Hamza A Khader and Sheikh Bava, Mohammed Kallapu, Basheer Bajpe, Abdul Hameed Uchil, Haneef Ullal, Ismail Shimoga, Imran Ahmed, Abdul Majeed, Abdul Ravoof, Rizwan, Lateef Ullal, Faruk Kallapu, Haneef Uchil, Ibrahim Perla, Abdul Rasheed Bijai along with Mohammed Ali Uchil.
Mohammed Siddiq and Rafiq Krishnapur made this event a memorable one. Treasurer Mohammed Siddiq along with Abdul Hameed Uchil, Mohammed Kallapu and Abdul Majeed managed the program.
BWF comprises Muslim brethren hailing from the coastal belt of Karnataka, India, especially from Mangalore and Udupi.
BWF has been organizing annual Iftar party for the last few years and has now become a familiar programme among the Muslims of coastal districts of Karnataka residing in Abu Dhabi.
