Udupi: Placement linked training workshop held at St Mary’s College Shirva

Udupi, Dec 9: “It is necessary that students inculcate during their education the skills to face competitive examinations after degree education. It should be the priority of students to obtain information on available jobs and prepare themselves for them,” said Bantakal college principal Dr Tirumaleshwara Bhat, the chief guest.

Madhwawadhiraja Institute of Technology and Management, Bantakal and Shirva St Mary’s College held a placement linked training workshop as per their agreement, at the college auditorium from December 7 to December 9.

“It is good to mould a bright future with a particular aim and intention in life obtaining the guidance and suggestions of the teachers. Students will be able to face big challenges if they develop skills and intelligence for them,” said college principal, Dr Herald Ivan Monis who presided over the programme.



“Success in life is possible if students get themselves acquainted with new professional skills through hard work during their college studies,” said head of the department of science and information technology department director, Lieutenant K Praveen Kumar during the introductory address.

Resource persons, Bantakal college employment unit director, Vidya Bhat, trained and gave useful suggestions on employment interviews by demonstrations. Bantakal College student welfare officer, Dr C K Manjunath and English department assistant professor, Sneha D’Souza gave guidance on verbal ability. The Mechanical Engineering department assistant professor, Sudheer Bhat provided training about numerical aptitude. Math department assistant professor, Nisha D’Souza and Bhagyalaxmi Navada informed the easy methods of simple mathematics and quantitative aptitude. Electronic and Communication Engineering department assistant professor, Laxmi Shetty and Kiran Kumar provided information about logical aptitude and reasoning aptitude, easy ways towards competitive examinations and provided training.

Final year computer science division students and teachers were present. Shobhita Shetty rendered a vote of thanks. Kripa sang a prayer song. Rion Rishi Alponso welcomed the gathering. Likhita Shetty compered the programme.
