Mangaluru: Carmel School celebrates World Mental Health Week

Media Release

Mangaluru, Oct 12: October 10 is marked as World Mental Health Day. The main objective of observing this day is to raise mental health awareness among people all over the world. The day also encourages people to talk openly about their problems.

This year’s World Mental Health Day comes at a time when our daily lives have changed considerably as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The months of lockdown and loss have had a huge impact on our mental health.

Everyone has to deal with varying levels of stress. When you feel like your stress levels have reached their peak, it might be time to take a quick break to reset.

A Mental Health Day can provide a much-needed break to pause, refresh and rejuvenate ourselves.

To celebrate World Mental Health Day, Carmel School held the following competitions.

Slogan writing
Poster making

To make the students aware of the significance of mental well-being, sessions were arranged for both the parents and the students through a webinar by the Mental Health professionals, Dr Rameela Shekhar, Dr Avinash and Dr Caroline P D’Souza. On the day an assembly was conducted for the students.

Stories with values for mental well-being were narrated by the staff and sent to the students.
