Bengaluru, Aug 10: A girl student who appeared for PU examination this year, had set a target of scoring 90 percent marks. When the result came, she had shockingly failed. However, she applied for a copy of the answer sheet and found that she had scored 97 in the subject against which the result had shown her having scored just 19.

On receipt of the result, the girl and her parents could not digest the fact that the girl had scored only 19 in Kannada. The answer sheet copy has revealed that in the tabulation sheet, the marks scored was put as 97, but when mentioning the final score, only 19 is shown. Apparently, the supervisor, who should have verified the total, did not do his job.

The girl has scored 83 in English, 93 in Physics, 91 in chemistry, 99 in Maths and 95 in biology. She scored a total of 558 marks but had failed because of the mistake of the evaluator.

Second level check need to be mandatory.
Recitors role is crucial, they need an extra eye and to be cautious when results are recited or entered to systems.

People found quilty of mistakes should be warned once and not allowed again to be in the correction/update panel.
