Karkala, Dec 27: A man was arrested for attempting to sell ganja near Kaikanji Paddu bridge in Moodukonaje village, Moodbidri. The arrest was made by a police team led by CI Sandesh P G.
The accused, Mohammed Rafiq (38), a resident of Madadka Chilimbi in Kuvettu village, Belthangady, was found in possession of 900 grams of ganja. The value of the seized drugs is estimated at Rs 22,000.
Rafiq has a criminal record, with three cases registered against him at Chikkamagaluru police station, as well as three additional cases of ganja trafficking at the Beltangady police station.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of City Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal, and the direction of DCP Siddartha Goyal (Law and Order), DCP Ravishankar, and Mangaluru North Division ACP Srikanth.
The operation was led by Sandesh P G, Inspector of Moodbidri Police Station, with assistance from Siddappa Narnoora, SI, Prashant ASI, and police personnel Mohammed Iqbal, Mohammed Hussain, Akil Ahmed, Rajesh, and Nagaraja Lamani.
Rafiq has been produced in court following his arrest.
