Mangaluru, Dec 27: Vaidyanatha Daiva expressed anger over garbage dumped on the field designated for the Nema ritual, refusing to perform the Valasari unless the area was cleaned. The incident occurred at Kaneeruthota, on the outskirts of the city.

The Katte Jathre of Malayala Chamundi Daiva was held at Kaneeruthota near Kumpala Thokkottu on Wednesday. While the Nema and Valasari rituals were scheduled for the night, the Daiva displayed displeasure at the administrative board upon noticing the garbage in the Nema field.

The Daiva reportedly exclaimed, “Is this a Valasari field or a market? Should I step on leftovers to cross? If the waste is not removed, I will not proceed with Valasari.”
