Kasargod, Aug 8: Naufia, ten-year-old daughter of Nassar and Fauzia couple, living at Bilal Nagar in Nellikatte near Badiadka, lost her life after her veil got tightened around her neck, thus suffocating her to death.
The veil had been tied to the hook of a fan inside the girl's house for helping the children to play. When her father was at the mosque and mother was inside the kitchen, Naufia was playing on this veil when the veil got twisted around her neck and the girl started hanging from it. On his return from the mosque, her father saw the condition of the girl and immediately took her to the government hospital at Kasargod here with the help of neighbours. But her life could not be saved.
The victim was a fifth standard student of the government lower primary school at Nellkatte.
