Mangaluru, Jul 9: Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, wanted to know from Siddaramaiah whether Rahul Gandhi, who has confirmed that the Chinese army had breached the international border and entered the Indian territory, had visited the border and witnessed the incident. This was an apparent retort to former chief minister Siddaramaiah's statement.
Siddaramaiah had wanted to know from BJP national general secretary B L Santosh, whether the latter is the defence minister of India, in response to his clarification that Chinese army had moved two km backwards. In his reply to Siddaramaiah's tweet, Nalin asked Siddaramaiah to be abreast of the current situation at the Indian order and the processes going on there. He also told the current leader of the opposition in the assembly that he cannot hope to hoodwink the people through such ploys, as this is an era of modern technology.
On Siddaramaiah's demand to know the way PM Cares Fund was used, Nalin said that Indians have profound trust in the Prime Minister and therefore have been steadfastly backing him. He assured that the details relating to PM Cares Fund sought by the former chief minister would be furnished in due course.
"What kind of support are you extending to state Congress president D K Shivakumar? You have played enough politics within the party. People like H Vishwanath, who were instrumental in bringing you into the Congress, had to leave the party because of you. Do not think that everyone else thinks and does like you. Stop searching for housefly in the plantain leaves placed in front of other people," he said, duly unleashing a diatribe against Siddaramaiah.
In his tweet, Nalin quipped that Siddaramaiah’s attempt to discuss COVID-19 is futile as neither Siddaramaiah nor himself are specialised doctors and therefore felt that senseless arguments do not lead people anywhere.
