Bengaluru: Completion of fifth exam - 32 SSLC students test corona-positive

Bengaluru, Jul 2: The SSLC students from the state have finished their fifth examination, social science, on Wednesday. They have to appear for one more examination after a three-day gap.

At the end of the examination on July 1, 32 students have suffered from coronavirus infection, the education department stated. There are claims that some of the coronavirus positive students have been continuing to appear for the examinations. As many as 3,363 SSLC students from containment zones and 613 students exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms were made to appear for their examination in separate rooms.


Minister Suresh Kumar at Kanakapura

As the number of corona infected students rose, 31 examination centres were removed from containment zones, said primary and secondary education minister S Suresh Kumar. He said that social science examination was held in a safe environment all over the state and that he had visited 13 examination centres in Ramanagara, Kanakapura and Channapatna and that he was satisfied with the arrangements made at the centres.

    Somehow the above picture makes me to worry.Is it true students were made to sit outside in hot sun in open ground?When rains ?and in a situation if one wants to go to wc? cant understand who had this idea?To write a answer paper in a Public exam ,have to be clean and best way is sit at a table and comfortable too.May God help our ministers to gain some brain.(or organizersEven under a tree shade too would be better than hot sun.

    Covid-19 effected SSLC-2020 Exams are almost over and the result is 100% pass without any doubt. As 2020-2021 Academic Year is Big Loss.

    And yes...of course...We need Educated Politicians Central as well as State....no doubt about it.

    Our government should take tuitions from the Kerala govt on conducting exams amid covid crisis. Who is responsible for the mess. An FIR should be lodged against the representatives for risking the lives of so many students and their families.!

    It takes 2 weeks for Covid-19 tests to come Positive.
    So, these students would have got infection 2 weeks back.

    If someone gets infection today & if you do a Covid-19 test after 2 days, his tests will come Negative.

    Also, Covid-19 will be a Permanent disease - as Antibody disappears from body within 2 months of getting generated.

    Belgium scientists as well as study by Nature Medicine - showed antibody remains only 2-3 months in the body.

    Vaccine not useful as well as getting antibody by getting infected, is also not useful. Herd Immunity is Not possible in Covid-19 situation.

    Government has to come up with new strategy to conduct exams for future.

    Don't believe everything you hear. The scientific community initially debunked the possibility that asymptomatic people can transmit the infection. Anti-bodies depend on memory cells and can last longer than 2-3 months.

    The situation being what it is it is expedient that The Government reviews the situation and postpone the examinations of The Students.

    Similar situation in Rajasthan. Students and teachers tested positive. Others sent for home quarantine. (Check news)
    I hope and pray such incidents do not happen in the future.
    Exams should have been postponed atleast.
    People should stop messing around with children's lives.
    Decision on NEET and JEE might come tomorrow.
    Hope it will be in student's interest.

    Many are educated. Being educated doesn't guarantee that your decisions will be for the better. People also make a lot of mistakes because of the EGO of being educated.
    There are many examples of " educated "
    people who are terrorists and criminals. People should have TRUE compassion, empathy, love etc If educated people don't have this then there is no point in saying this. This is what every person and especially every leader should have. I disliked your comment by mistake

    One doesnt have to be only educated while making decisions, but must also study all parameters that might affect the conduct of exams . Also one must be able to understand grievances of others and have a clarity while making decisions. Delusional and irrational thinking is the reason why today 32 students were tested positive.
