Mangaluru/Udupi, Jun 30: On the 23rd day of easing lockdown, Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday June 30, reported 44 fresh cases in the district. Meanwhile, Udupi reported 9 new cases and a death.
In Dakshina Kannada, a total of 47,583 people have been screened so far, including 96 on Tuesday.
As per the district health bulletin, a total of 13,756 samples have been sent for tests till date, out of which 12,682 have turned out negative, and 749 positive, including 10 persons from other districts. Out of these, 292 are currently active. As many as 443 persons have recovered and been discharged including 17 on Tuesday, and 14 deaths have occurred so far.
As many as 17 patients, 13 males and four females including one child, were discharged from Wenlock on Tuesday.
Four patients, three males and one female, are serious and being treated in the ICU.
As many as 316 samples were sent for testing on Tuesday. Reports of 148 samples were received on Tuesday, out of which 44 tested positive and the rest negative. Reports of 325 samples are awaited.
Of the 44 who tested positive on Tuesday, 33 are males and 11 females. Among the 44 new patients, one is an inter-state returnee, three inter-district returnees, two returned from Saudi Arabia, nine have been diagnosed with influenza-like illness (ILI), three with severe acute respiratory illness (SARI) and 21 were primary contacts of earlier patients. Contact tracing process of five patients is on.
A total of 44 persons have been admitted for observation.
Altogether, 7,042 people have been treated at fever clinics so far. A total of 30 cases of severe acute respiratory illness (SARI) have been reported so far.
Udupi
As per the health bulletin released by the Udupi district administration, a total of 4,907 people have completed 28 days of quarantine, including 6 on Tuesday, and a total of 4,872 have completed 14 days of quarantine. As many as 872 persons are currently in home quarantine.
A total of 71 people are in isolation wards, including 15 fresh admissions on Tuesday. Among them, six have SARI and nine influenza-like illness.
As many as 1,022 people, including 9 on Tuesday, have been discharged from isolation wards so far.
A total of 14,556 samples have been collected so far, including 288 on Tuesday, out of which 60 are COVID contacts and 30 are COVID suspects. Out of them, 12,976 samples have turned out to be negative, including 114 on Tuesday, and 374 reports are awaited.
As many as 1,206 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, including 9 on Tuesday. As many as 1,067 patients have been discharged so far including 11 on Tuesday, and 136 cases are currently active. Three deaths have occurred so far including one on Tuesday. One positive case has been transferred to Dakshina Kannada.
Among the 9 new cases reported on Tuesday, which includes six males and three females, three have travel history to Maharashtra, three are returnees from Bengaluru, one from Telangana and two primary contacts of earlier patients.
One death was reported on Tuesday. The victim, a man, was a 48-year-old resident of Kalthodu in Byndoor. He had returned from Mumbai on June 27. He breathed his last on June 28.The deceased’s swab was collected which tested positive on Tuesday.
