Bengaluru, Jun 16: The department of PU education, which had assured the students that they were free to appear for the remaining English examination from any of the centres in the state because of the prevailing corona situation, has now gone back on its decision. It has delivered a shock to students by asking them to appear for the English examination at the centre which was originally allotted to them.
Several students had sought inter-district change of centre but because of technical problems, the changes could not be made in many cases. Therefore, the department has asked students who have gone to other districts to move back to their original centre to write the examination.

The department, in its official communique, said that the students have to appear at their original examination centres in case the inter-district change of centre could not be affected. Even the students who opted to appear at another centre within the district have been asked to appear for their previous centre.
The students have been issued identity cards which do not contain photographs. As such, the students have to carry without fail their original hall tickets. In cases where change of centres was permitted and online download was possible, they have to carry both the hall tickets to the examination centre and show them when sought, an official of the department stated.
